The measure, which has been approved byJamaica's Cabinet but still needs final approval from the Parliament, will raise the arrivals tax from US$10 to US$20. The additional funds generated by the increase will go toward marketing Jamaica in emerging markets such as Brazil, Russia, India, China, Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea and Turkey.
