According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association helped kill a bill that would have allowed Fort Worth to raise its hotel tax by 3 percentage points, to a U.S.-high 18 percent. There still is the possibility the city will raise the levy by 2 percentage points, to 17 percent, to fund projects such as the addition of a new arena at the Will Rogers Memorial Complex. Developers will look for other sources of funding.
