Experient, a Maritz Travel Company, is officially collaborating with Airbnb. Clients of the events management and solutions provider now will have the opportunity to include Airbnb as a housing option for attendees.

"We help to manage roughly 50 citywide events a year," explained Scott Durkin, Experient vice president of partner development. "Some of the destinations we go into have significant compression issues. When blocks fill up, we need to have additional options so that we can accommodate their attendees."

As such, when traditional hotel blocks are full, clients will have the option to add a link from the event site directly to the Airbnb site. Through Airbnb's suite of tools for business travel, Experient will be able to collect all attendee lodging data and include it in the reports back to their clients.

While that is the initial integration plan, according to Durkin, clients will have the opportunity to include the Airbnb link earlier in the process if they desire.

"We are excited for the opportunity to help Experient expand their service offerings by providing more choices through our dedicated business booking platform," said Airbnb senior business development lead Michael Brous. Experient will begin integrating Airbnb functionality shortly, for the fall convention season.
