According to the Boston Globe, thousands of brides and grooms and hundreds of vendors, all scheduled to be at a bridal show starting Friday, were ripped off by the event's organizers. Boston police told the paper that up to 200 exhibitors paid $350 to $4,000 each for booth space at the Boston 411 Home & Bridal Show 2010, which was to be held at the Hynes Convention Center, and about 5,000 people paid $10-$15 for tickets. The police are working with the FBI Cyber Crime Unit on the investigation. James Rooney, executive director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, which owns the convention center, told the paper the facility had never been booked.
