The exhibition industry grew by 1.8 percent in the third quarter of this year, according to a report released by the Center for Exhibition Industry Research, showing positive gains for the 17th consecutive quarter. The number of exhibitors rose by 3.7 percent and led all indicators in terms of growth, while net square feet increased by 2.1 percent and attendance was up by 1.9 percent. Revenue was the only metric that did not show positive gains, down by 0.5 percent year-over-year. The industry is performing very closely to industry predictions. The first three quarters of 2014 averaged a 1.9 percent growth overall, just 0.1 percentage point shy of the 2 percent growth forecasted in CEIR's 2014 Predict Report.
