Last week's Europe Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings exhibition in Barcelona, Spain, posted a 7.7 percent increase in trade visitor attendance over the previous year's show, according to show organizers. Forty percent of those visitors were first-time attendees. Those numbers, in addition to the more than 65,000 appointments that were prescheduled for the exhibition, fall in line with the renewed meetings-industry optimism expressed in EIBTM-related research, according to organizers. Full attendance figures will be released following an audit. The next EIBTM will take place Nov. 18–20, 2014, again in Barcelona.
