The business-to-business exhibition industry posted a year-over-year gain of 4.6 percent during the first quarter of 2015, the highest increase since the second quarter of 2007, according to metrics from the Center of Exhibition Industry Research. The strongest metric was real revenues, which rose by an impressive 7.3 percent, followed by net square feet, which increased by 4.1 percent; attendees, which saw a rise of 3.7 percent; and exhibitors, up 3.3 percent. CEIR analysts note that the gains are especially impressive because metrics were up despite the severe weather this past winter, which easily could have had a negative impact on exhibition participation.
