Reed Travel Exhibitions named Jaime Rosov as event director for IBTM America 2015. Former AIBTM event director Michael J. Lyons is leaving the post to pursue other interests, including his sideline careers as a professional speaker and an actor. Rosov, a nine-year-veteran of Reed, has worked on AIBTM for the past two and half years. "As we roll out the new model for IBTM America, Jaime's considerable experience will be invaluable," commented IBTM Global Events portfolio director Sallie Coventry.
Reed announced at the end of the AIBTM exhibition this past June in Orlando that the show would adopt a more purely hosted-buyer format beginning next June in Chicago. The inaugural IBTM America will be driven by one-on-one meetings among the 250 hosted buyers and 250 suppliers, to take place in standardized meeting pods rather than elaborate branded booths. "The opportunity to manage the new look and feel of IBTM America is very exciting," said Rosov. "Our team is committed and focused on making this new dynamic trade show concept a success for all our stakeholders."
For his part, Lyons described the decision to depart as difficult. "But I believe the time has come for me to scratch an entrepreneurial itch I have developed over time," he added.
IBTM America will take place June 9-11, 2015, in the Skyline Ballroom, the largest event space in Chicago's McCormick Place West.
