IBTM World will again offer educational sessions alongside the exhibits on the show floor, organizers confirmed, after debuting the format last year. The ACS Knowledge Village will provide interactive workshops, debates and presentations on global issues affecting the meetings industry. The event takes place Nov. 29 - Dec. 1, 2016, in Barcelona, Spain.

"Both suppliers and buyers asked that the sessions not only address their business issues but are also available to them to drop in between their own appointment schedules," said senior exhibition director Graeme Barnett. "Locating the theaters on the show floor gives them easy accessibility."

The show organizers also have established the themes of the knowledge program, based on research and consultation with international buyers and suppliers. Sessions will focus on the following topics:

1. Safety, security and risk management
2. Innovation, disruption and technology
3. Professional development/staff recruitment and retention
4. Client engagement
5. The impact of Brexit on the meetings industry

Among the sessions will be the annual presentation of the Trends Watch Report, delivered by Rob Davidson, managing director of MICE Knowledge. Due to the popularity of Davidson's session each year, he will present the report on the show's opening morning and again at some point before the show's close. Details about the IBTM World show schedule will be posted on ibtmworld.com over the coming weeks.
