The IMEX trade show, which took place May 19-21 in Frankfurt, Germany, included more than 3,900 hosted buyers, a record for the 13-year-old event. The overall number of visitors, including the hosted buyers, was approximately 9,000. Ray Bloom, chairman of IMEX Group, said there were  "many new buyers from countries such as China, India, Brazil, Argentina, Egypt and Israel at IMEX for the first time, making this the highest ever number of long-haul buyers to attend the show." Bloom also announced a new initiative planned for the show in 2016 (taking place April 19-21): The Professional Convention Management Association will launch its Business School there, a program that will offer "high-level education from business-school professors" that will take place the day before the show opens.

Awards for outstanding programs announced during the IMEX honored, among others, tech firm Symantec, which won a Green Meeting Award for its Vision Symposium Series EMEA 2014, which had an 89 percent waste-diversion rate, an 88 percent reduction in overall waste and a 67 percent reduction in CO2 emissions. Marina Bay Sands in Singapore was given the IMEX 2015 Green Supplier Award, and Delta-Lloyd Life insurance and its supplier/partners Destination Unlimited and Authenticore won the IMEX 2015 Commitment to the Community Award for their eco-incentive program held in Norway.
