IMEX, the trade show for the international meetings, events and incentive travel industry, opened yesterday in Frankfurt, Germany. Show organizers expected an estimated 3,800 hosted buyers among thousands of other attendees and some 3,500 exhibitors from more than 150 countries. "We are also delighted to welcome 45 brand-new hosted-buyer groups to the show this year, including a marked increase of buyers from the emerging markets of China, India and Brazil," said IMEX group chairman Ray Bloom. The trade show drew 38 new exhibiting companies. A total of 82 seminars, presentations and workshops will take place over the course of the three-day event. Planners and exhibitors have arranged 40,000 one-on-one meetings for the event, using the IMEX online appointment system. For IMEX news releases, go here.
