Reed Travel Exhibitions announced today the acquisition of Business Travel Market, an annual hosted-buyer event focusing on corporate travel and held in London. The event and expo, launched in 2009, will become part of Reed's meetings-industry group of shows, which includes AIME, AIBTM, CIBTM, EIBTM and GIBTM. Word of the acquisition comes just one day after Reed revealed a new strategic partnership with the Association of Corporate Travel Executives, through which ACTE will provide a business-travel educational track for the IBTM portfolio, beginning with GIBTM in Abu Dhabi in March 2012. ACTE already was the exclusive provider of educational content for the Business Travel Market. Craig Moyes, Reed's group exhibition director for the IBTM show portfolio, said that business travel would be a key focus across the group's events this coming year.
