The Motivation Show will not take place at McCormick Place in Chicago next year, according to M&C's sister publication, Incentive. Pete Erickson, managing director of the show and president of Hall-Erickson, said the decision was based on the disappointing response received for its Feb. 15 initial space-assignment deadline. “It is clear at this time that there is not enough support from the supplier community to produce a traditional trade show in a venue like McCormick Place in Chicago,” said Erickson. He added that the company is exploring other event models and venues for 2014. The show  had been scheduled to take place May 7-8. In addition, Erikson said the Motivation Show Las Vegas, which was to debut next year, will be merged into the PPAI Expo; it was initially slated to be co-located with the event, which will take place Jan. 15-17, 2014, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The organization had not planned to hold The Motivation Show in 2013.
