Five trade show industry associations -- the Healthcare Exhibitors Association; the Trade Show Exhibitors Association; the Corporate Event Marketers Association; Exhibit Designers + Producers Association, and the Exhibitor Appointed Contractor Association -- have formed the Exhibit Industry Council in response to rising concerns from exhibitors that business practices in the industry are leading to an unsustainable business model. "The EIC's goal is to unify all trade show industry stakeholders to support reputable, consistent standards through the use of best practices that support world-class service at trade shows," according to Eric Allen, executive vice president of the Healthcare Exhibitors Association. The group, which will meet quarterly, plans to develop and promote a set of trade show best practices.
