Two prominent corporate travel management consulting practices are joining forces, as GoldSpring Consulting will acquire Management Alternatives Inc. "This acquisition will help us reach our growth and service-offering goals much more quickly than we had initially envisioned," said Mark Williams, GoldSpring partner. "Our mission matches the Management Alternatives vision to deliver high-value business-advisory services across all business travel sectors. This acquisition dramatically expands our range of services and supports that vision." Carol Ann Salcito, owner, president and CEO of MAI, will have an ongoing role as senior advisor for GoldSpring. Former MAI senior vice president Will Tate will become a partner at GoldSpring, and bring with him the benchmarking solution he developed, 3d Travel Metrics. Also joining GoldSpring from MAI are Shimon Avish, who will manage meeting engagements, and Ed O'Connor, who will be a senior consultant. GoldSpring also will acquire Air Sourcing Manager and Hotel Optimization Manager, two technologies developed independently by GoldSpring partner Neil Hammond. The purchases come on the heels of GoldSpring's new affiliation with Partnership Travel Consulting, which was announced late last year; the organizations have collaborated on several projects already and will continue to do work together. PTC's Andrew Menkes is now also a senior advisor for GoldSpring.
