Relief efforts are well underway in the northern Leeward Islands and the northern Caribbean, following damage sustained during hurricanes Irma, Jose and Maria. Power outages after Maria were so widespread on Puerto Rico, Gov. Ricardo Rosselló told CNN that restoring power to everyone might take months.

At press time, it was too early to get assessments of damages at Puerto Rico properties such as the El Conquistador, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, and the St. Regis Bahia Beach.

Both the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association have established funds to assist the afflicted areas. CTO's Relief Fund helps families and countries rebuild after hurricanes; for more information on the fund or to make a donation, click here. Donations through

CHTA's Caribbean Tourism Recovery Fund can be made here.
