In a survey of more than 1,000 association members, Community Brands, owners of the YourMembership association-management system, explored what keeps people paying their dues year after year. The Member Loyalty Study found that a code of ethics was the top benefit for retaining association constituents, a result that was consistent across generations. Sixty-eight percent of those surveyed agreed that a code of ethics "provides a common set of rules or standards for all in the profession to adhere to."
