Hotel: The Waterfront Hotel. Renovations completed: September. Price tag: multimillion-dollar. Rooms: 145. Meeting space: 9,000 square feet. Key changes: a fitness center, a heated pool, propertywide wireless Internet, plasma TVs and iPod docking stations in guest rooms. Also new to the property: Miss Pearl's Jam House, serving New World cuisine and overseen by celebrity chef Joey Altman.
Hotel: The Lodge at Vail, a RockResort. Renovations completed: September. Price tag: $1.5 million. Rooms: 165. Meeting space: approximately 24,000 square feet. Key changes: The 6,000-square-foot mountainside ballroom was completed, along with a new 11,000-square-foot RockResorts Spa with 11 treatment rooms.
Hotel: The Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club. Renovations completed: September. Price tag: $25 million. Rooms: 620. Meeting space: 65,000 square feet. Key changes: All meeting space was refurbished; two 16-seat boardrooms were added; a new steak house opened in the clubhouse, and the resort's tennis center and four golf courses were revamped. In January 2009, a 12,000-square-foot spa and a 4,000-square-foot fitness center will open to the public.
IL, St. Charles
Hotel: Pheasant Run Resort & Spa. Renovations completed: September. Price tag: $30 million. Rooms: 473. Meeting space: 100,000 square feet. Key changes: upgrades to all guest rooms, public spaces, dining, and entertainment facilities, including two theaters and a comedy club. In future months, a new restaurant will be added.
Hotel: The Fairmont Battery Wharf. Opening: December. Rooms: 150. Meeting space: 6,000 square feet. Key features: a restaurant headed by chef Guy Martin, a lounge with harbor views and water taxi service to Boston Logan International Airport.
Hotel: Sheraton Bellevue Hotel. Renovations completed: September. Price tag: $5.7 million. Rooms: 179. Meeting space: 13,000 square feet. Key changes: a remodelling of Sam's, the hotel restaurant; an expansion to the fitness center, and a redesign of all guest rooms to create a coastal theme.
Hotel: Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. Opened: October. Rooms: 147. Meeting space: 10,564 square feet. Key features: a spa with eight treatment rooms; an infinity-edge pool and terrace; and the ART Restaurant and Lounge, serving Pacific Northwest cuisine with farm-fresh ingredients.
