Expansion Continues

In January, city officials unveiled plans for the Music City Center, a new convention facility that will feature a 375,000-square-foot exhibit hall and 80 meeting rooms. Groundbreaking is set for later this year. In addition, the 248-room Hutton Hotel opened earlier this year, and 13 other hotels, representing 1,500 rooms, are in development, including a 199-room Hotel Palomar with 5,100 square feet of meeting space and a 285-room InterContinental with 18,000 square feet of meeting space; both are set to open in 2010.

Hotel Makeovers

The 246-room Magnolia Hotel completed a $7 million renovation in late 2008. The 1,225-room Sheraton Denver Downtown, currently closed for a $70 million renovation that will include all 133,000 square feet of meeting space, will reopen in late spring. The new 230-room Four Seasons Hotel & Residences, with 16,000 square feet of meeting space, will open in early 2010.
