Reed Travel Exhibitions is bringing the successful IBTM brand of meetings exhibitions to India in 2013. IBTM India is scheduled for the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai next Sept. 12-14.

The new show is expected to feature 100 meetings, incentives and business travel exhibitors who will meet with 100 rigorously qualified hosted buyers, a one-on-one format that is being used for certain new events.

The announcement comes at the end of a good year for Reed's meetings shows. The second American Business Travel and Meetings exhibition, held in Baltimore last June, welcomed more than 2,250 attendees, an increase of 50 percent over the inaugural event in 2012.

Starting next year, AIBTM will rotate between Chicago and Orlando for four years, beginning with Chicago's McCormick Place, June 11-13, 2013. "Following the lead of many associations in the U.S. that move their events to a different place each year, we will now have the flexibility to maximize the enormous potential delivered to AIBTM by both Chicago and Orlando," Craig Moyes, IBTM Global Events Portfolio director, said in an official statement.

More than 4,100 hosted buyers attended the European Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings exhibition's 25th annual show, held in Barcelona, Spain, this past November, the largest IBTM event ever. The organizers announced that the event will remain in Barcelona at its current venue, the Fira Gran Via, through 2016.

Reed's other IBTM events also grew this year. In Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, GIBTM hosted 270 buyers and 332 exhibitors in March, while CIBTM welcomed 413 buyers and 398 exhibitors to China in September.
