Pittsburgh will host the National Rifle Association in 2011. It is estimated that the three-day April event, expected to draw 61,000 attendees, will bring in approximately $11.2 million in direct spend for the city. The last time the NRA met in Pittsburgh was in 2004.

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has launched its own branded spa, called Sense, the first of which will be the Rosewood Mayakoba, Riviera Maya, Mexico, to debut by midyear, followed by The Carlyle in New York City and Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands.

Delta Air Lines launched 50 new international routes during 2007 and plans to launch another 25 in 2008, including daily nonstop service from Atlanta to Shanghai, China, beginning March 30, and from Salt Lake City to Paris, starting June 2.

Expansion plans for New York City’s Jacob Javits Convention Center are officially dead due to rising costs, say New York state officials. The initial price tag of $1.7 billion in 2006 ballooned to $5 billion in 2007. A vastly scaled-down revamp is being discussed.
