David Peckinpaugh, former president and CEO of the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau, has joined global site-selection firm HelmsBriscoe as vice president of business development. Peckinpaugh was an executive for Conferon Global Services (now Experient) before moving to San Diego.
THe new requirements of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative went into effect on June 1 and apply to U.S. and Canadian citizens entering the United States by land or sea. Travelers must carry a passport, a Trusted Traveler Card, a U.S. Passport Card or state- or province-issued Enhanced Driver's Licenses (when they become available).
The Convention Industry Council has endorsed the Professional Convention Management Association's Certified Meeting Professional Online Prep Course as the exam's official study course (pcma.org/CMP).
