MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL has signed four agreements that will triple the chain’s presence in Mexico over the next five years. The deals include 20 Courtyard by Marriott properties, and both a 450-room JW Marriott Resort and a 150-room Renaissance on the Riviera Maya, the latter two to open by 2011.

THE MASSACHUSETTS CONVENTION CENTER AUTHORITY
is considering dropping Aramark as its concessionaire at the Hynes Convention Center and Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, citing poor service and ongoing labor issues. Aramark’s contract, estimated at $27 million annually, is up for renewal in early 2009.

THE HEALTHCARE CONVENTION AND EXHIBITORS ASSOCIATION’S
recently released report on Healthcare Meeting and Exhibit Marketing Globalization found that international attendance at medical meetings has risen to 27 percent, from 20 percent five years ago.

MIDWEST AIRLINES
announced it will eliminate service to three airports --
Fort Lauderdale; Fort Myers, Fla.; and San Diego -- effective Sept. 8.
