The National Association for Employee Recognition, based in Naperville, Ill., has changed its name to Recognition Professionals International, to reflect the group’s growing global membership base and its focus on recognition in all forms.

Maritz Inc., based in Fenton, Mo., and motivation consultant Bob Nelson have launched Maritz Recognition Studio, an online suite of tools to help companies assess their formal and informal motivation needs.

Rocco Forte Hotels will manage a new 90-room resort in Marrakesh, Morocco. The property, to open in December 2009, will include a spa, an 18-hole golf course and golf academy, and 80 privately owned villas.

The Italian government has passed a new law that allows groups to work with any tour guide of their choosing. Previously, planners could hire only Italian tour guides who had been officially accredited by the local government, and some popular tourist sites were off-limits to groups unless they were accompanied by an “official” guide.
