Compagnie du Ponant, a French-flagged luxury cruise line, is looking to attract more meeting and incentive business from this side of the Atlantic.

To that end, the company opened a sales office in Miami last month, headed by Terri Haas, a former sales executive with Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Costa Cruises.

The Marseilles-based company's fleet includes Le Ponant, a 290-foot sailing yacht with 32 staterooms; Le Levant, a 330-foot yacht with 45 staterooms; and Le Diamant, a 407-foot ice-class expedition cruise ship with 110 staterooms.

Next month, Compagnie du Ponant's newest vessel -- the 466-foot yacht Le Boréal, with 132 staterooms -- will enter service. Its sister ship -- L'Austral -- will debut in May 2011. All of the ships can be chartered for meeting or incentive groups, and itineraries can be customized. Smaller groups (those using up to 14 staterooms on Le Ponant; up to 20 staterooms on Le Levant, and up to 30 staterooms on Le Diamant, Le Boréal and L'Austral) can be accommodated on scheduled cruises.
