Baltimore has been selected as the host city for the Americas Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition, Reed Travel Exhibitions' first hosted-buyer trade show in North America for the meeting and incentive market. The annual show will debut June 29-July 1, 2010; Reed's contract to hold the show in the city extends through 2014. The company, based in Richmond, England, operates similar shows in Abu Dhabi (GIBTM); Barcelona, Spain (EIBTM); and Beijing (CIBTM).
The Incentive Marketing Association, based in Naperville, Ill., has announced the five winners of its 2008 Circle of Excellence Awards for outstanding incentive programs. The sole U.S. firm honored was Modis, an IT firm lauded for its annual sales program that boosted North American sales from $472 million in 2006 to $513 million in 2007.
London's Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel, has completed a four-year, head-to-toe renovation of its 494 guest rooms, public spaces and 33 meeting rooms. A new spa and fitness center will be completed in 2010.
