American Cruise Lines’ newest vessel, the American Star, will debut this month. The 100-passenger ship will sail itineraries along the Maine coast through the fall.

The 235-room Raffles Le Montreux Palace in Montreux, Switzerland, has been rebranded as the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace.

Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. has fully acquired the Royal Scotsman, a 36-passenger luxury train in Scotland, and Afloat in France, a luxury river-cruise company that runs five barges on the waterways of France. Orient-Express previously owned 50 percent of both entities.

Kempinski Hotels will manage a five-star luxury hotel within the Cavo Sidero resort complex being developed on the Greek island of Crete. The hotel, which will open in 2010, will have 180 guest rooms and 10 presidential suites. Facilities will include a number of restaurants and bars, tennis courts and a large spa with indoor pool. The Cavo Sidero complex, which also will have luxury villas and an apartment complex, has four golf courses and horseback-riding facilities.
