Costco flowersIf you or a member of your staff has an affinity for arranging florals, consider DIY-ing your floral arrangements with flowers bought from a low-cost big-box retailer like Costco. Sarah Baldwin, a Highland Park, Ill.-based independent event planner, often buys flowers for her events from the wholesale giant. She created this gorgeous arrangement for about $35 per centerpiece. The cost included flowers (roses mixed with variety bouquets), containers purchased from Michaels (michaels.com) for about $5 each, plus her hourly rate. Similar creations from a florist cost about $125 per centerpiece.
