Floral arrangements are notoriously costly, and finding flowers that are pesticide-free and labor-friendly can make things even pricier. Instead, arrange centerpieces out of naturally fallen branches, used raw or spray-painted. If you don't have access to the right trees, manzanita branches work particularly well and can be bought from flower wholesalers (Blooms and Branches offers them from $3.63 apiece). Combine with a few stones or candles, and the results will be stunning. Thanks to DSC (970-476-6565; dsc-co.com), a destination management company based in Avon, Colo., for the idea.
