Jill Lazar, a principal at Everything Events (everythingeventsco.com) in Providence, R.I., bolstered attendance for a wedding expo in Newport, R.I., by getting the exhibitors involved. She asked select exhibitors to raffle off big prizes to attendees, perform demos and provide transportation for VIPs. The exhibitors who spent a little extra on these things stood out from the crowd, and the freebies helped market the event to potential attendees.
