Chartering a bus or van is probably the most reliable way of moving attendees from on-site to off-site, but if possible, consider leading a walking tour; it’s less expensive, more healthful and eco-friendly. For long distances, a destination's own public transportation system can do the trick. In New York City, for example, PRA Destination Management (212-683-5333; pra.com) leads subway adventures, which give out-of-towners a real sense of the Big Apple.
