Meetings Quest - the industry's longest-running hosted-buyer show presented by Northstar Meetings Group - commenced Nov. 28-29, 2018 in Meadowlands, N.J., showcasing the region's key entertainment, cultural and transportation assets.

Situated just minutes from Midtown Manhattan, the Meadowlands Liberty region is home to more than 10,000 guest rooms and a large variety of meeting venues, ranging from hotel ballrooms and catering facilities to MetLife Stadium and the Meadowlands Exposition Center.

A hard-hat tour of the American Dream Meadowlands, a new retail and entertainment destination.
Prior to the event's opening reception at the Meadowlands Racetrack, attendees were treated to a special hard-hat tour of the region's highly anticipated new retail and entertainment destination opening this spring: American Dream Meadowlands. Spanning more than 3 million square feet - picture the length of two Empire State buildings end to end - the mega project promises to transform Rutherford, N.J. and the surrounding area.

American Dream Meadowlands will encompass four theme parks and retail opportunities.
Highlights of the mammoth site include The Collections, a 200,000-square-foot luxury retail destination anchored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Hermes, with 450 retail, food and specialty shops; four theme parks: Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, Sea Life Aquarium, Legoland Discover Center and Peppa Pig World of Play; a 16-story Big Snow Indoor Ski & Snow Park; an 1,800-seat performing arts theater; the world's steepest roller coaster, which will rise through the roof of the complex; and a 285-foot-tall observation wheel providing breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline.

Meetings Quest incorporates one-on-one appointments between planners and suppliers.
Along with one-on-one appointments between planners and suppliers, the Meetings Quest program also included an educational session, "Seminars Are Boring, How to Create Events People Actually Want to Attend," led by Jessica L. Levin, president and chief connector of Seven Degrees Communications. The engaging session showcased practical examples of out-of-the-box networking and entertainment ideas; advice for selling new event concepts to clients and senior management; tips on how to make the meeting environment more inviting; and offered fun ways that planners can build buzz for future events.

Attending planners were also treated to comprehensive site inspections of area event venues, including the Renaissance Midtown hotel, YOTEL New York and MetLife Stadium, home of the NY Giants and NY Jets NFL teams.
