Susan Hanlon

Vice President Meeting and Incentive Group Sales, Palace Resorts

Susan Hanlon is vice president of meeting and incentive group sales of Palace Resorts. Hanlon not only leads the U.S.-based sales team, but also develops and maintains effective sales strategies with a focus on solution based selling that enhances strong customer relationships.   

With more than 25 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry, including hotel sales, incentive travel, promotional events and the airline industry, Hanlon previously served as the northeast regional director of group sales for Palace Resorts. In this role, Hanlon achieved more than $35 million in sales through a comprehensive customer-focused approach that clearly identifies client needs.   


Kathy Halpern   

Vice President of Marketing

Kathy Halpern oversees marketing planning and strategic execution for the Palace Resorts brand, which includes seven oceanfront resort properties in Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres and Riviera Maya, Mexico, as well as Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun.

A seasoned veteran in the hospitality industry, Halpern brings more than two decades of experience in both hotel and tour operator sales and marketing.  Prior to joining Palace Resorts, Halpern worked with Occidental Hotels & Resorts for more than 13 years. Most recently, as vice president of sales & marketing, Halpern successfully managed product distribution, promotional marketing and brand strategy, public relations, business development in growing markets as well as launching new properties and re-branding existing hotels. 


Moderator: Bonnie Wallsh, MA, CMP, CMM is the Chief Strategist of Bonnie Wallsh Associates, LLC, a professional meeting management, consulting and training firm launched in 1978.

She has been an instructor at 7 colleges and she worked part-time at the Small Business Resource Center, helping entrepreneurs to launch and grow their businesses.

During her 30 years as a member of MPI, she co-chaired the CMP study group, served on the Executive Board for MPIGNY and MPICC, headed the Dream Team for Charlotte, received Planner of the Year Award and several scholarships from MPICC.  She is the recipient of both Volunteer of the Quarter and Volunteer of the Year from the Southeast chapter of PCMA, served on the Faculty Task Force, is currently serving on the PCMA Education Task Force, and the PCMA Southeast Chapter Program Committee.
