We've all heard the news that sitting is really bad for our health, but here are some statistics from Just Stand, whose mission is to get people to "take action against one of the most unanticipated health threats of our time -- our increasingly sedentary lifestyles":
• The average person now sits 12 hours per day;
• The fourth-leading risk factor for global mortality is physical inactivity, and
• Fully 3.2 million deaths per year are related to physical inactivity.
 
One suggestion: Rather than hanging out in a small conference room or in someone's office to discuss the latest business, take the meeting outside in the fresh air. Need convincing?
