Airfare to and within Asia Pacific during the second quarter of 2008 increased an average of 9 percent compared with the same quarter in 2007, according to the latest American Express Asia Pacific Business Travel Monitor, which studies fares for flights between more than 370 city pairs around the world. Fares from the Americas to India increased 37 percent over that time period, and fares to Japan increased 14 percent. Business-class fares to China increased 9 percent and first-class fares were up 14 percent in the second quarter compared with a year ago. Airfare to Singapore increased approximately 3 to 4 percent for most fare types, the report said.

Delta Air Lines is adding broadband Wi-Fi access on its domestic fleet of more than 330 planes. Aircell’s Mobile Broadband Network will be installed by the end of summer 2009. Usage will cost $9.95 on flights of three hours or less and $12.96 on flights lasting more than three hours.
