Before golfing with
clients for the first time, brush up on these tips on golf
etiquette from Suzanne Woo, speaker and the founder of BizGolf
Don’t rush it. Wait
for a cue from your playing partner before discussing business. If
he doesn’t bring it up, focus on building the relationship. In
general, wait until the 6th or 7th hole, and stop talking business
by the 13th or 14th hole.
Play to win. Play your
game to the best of your ability. As long as you behave graciously,
it won’t matter whether you win or lose.
Be courteous. During
the day’s play, don’t drink alcohol excessively, use foul language
or tell inappropriate jokes. And don’t answer phone calls in the
middle of a game.
