High-tech machines at The Grove

Breaking a sweat has gone cutting edge and in the most unlikely of places. Nestled in an 18th-century estate in England’s Hartfordshire, the 211-room Grove offers chic decor, a gleaming spa and a  futuristic fitness center.
    Guests checking into the 270-square-foot exercise facility receive a sleek digital key, used with equipment as part of the Wellness System. The technology keeps track of the workout, logging data such as number of calories burned or miles run on the treadmill. The system also monitors blood pressure and weight loss.
    An added feature of the Wellness System: Guests can print out copies of their progress or have all the data e-mailed automatically to their home computers. (011) 44-1923- 807807;
