Short Cuts:
On the SpotHow often are you on the road, and how does travel affect your personal life?

"I'm traveling about 10 days a month and can't always plan it as well as I'd like. My social life has to work around a sometimes random travel schedule. It's difficult, but it gives me a chance to see places and things I might not otherwise get to see. There are pluses and minuses, I guess."

"I'm on the road about 30 to 40 days a year. There are lots of things you miss back home: family reunions, birthdays, any general social event that's going on. In this business, something could come up, and you'll have to cancel."

"I'm on the road probably about 30 days a year, a lot in spring and fall. It's hard because I have three children. My younger ones are OK, but my oldest is 8, and she's at a point where she wants me home. You have to make a lot of arrangements around the kids, and that's always a challenge."
