February 10: The 286-room Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Hotel and Golf Club at Champions Circle in Fort Worth has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation. All rooms received new carpets, beds, bedding and plasma TVs. The fitness center also has new cardio machines, and the 22,000 square feet of meeting space got a facelift as well. The clubhouse grill and pro shop that service the Jay Morrish golf course also were renovated. 

January 17: The 614-room Omni Fort Worth Hotel, the city's new convention center property, welcomed its first guests Jan. 17. Across from the Fort Worth Convention Center, the property is the new catering partner for the larger facility. The hotel offers 68,000 square feet of meeting space of its own, including the 18,788-square-foot Texas Ballroom, plus a 20,000-square-foot rooftop garden. Refreshment options include Bob's Steak & Chop House, Cast Iron, the Wine Thief bar and Whisky & Rye. Also available are a full-service fitness center, Wi-Fi access throughout, the Kimbell Art Museum Shop and the Mokara Spa with six treatment rooms.
