Short Cuts:
On the SpotWhat is the first thing you look for when evaluating a hotel room?

“I always check for the quality of the shampoo and hair conditioner. Overall, the bathroom is important to me. It is the best place in the room to retreat to after the meeting or event is over and who doesn’t like to be able to pamper themselves?”
Sarah Bennett
Convention Coordinator
Independent Battery Manufacturers Association
Largo, Fla.

“As my events often overlap, I have to work while on the road. Therefore I always look for Internet connections, and I am happy to say that most hotels, even the smaller boutique ones, nowadays have this capability.”
Kathleen Brower
Senior Conference Planner
Berkeley Lab
Berkeley, Calif.

“Good coffee, and then, of course, a coffeemaker to make it in. While it is true that some larger hotels prefer you to be in their restaurants, I think they are beginning to listen to the business traveler and provide it in the room. It’s nice to drink that first cup on your own.”
Kathy Codner, CMP
