What special touches do you incorporate into an autumn meeting or event to make it seasonally appropriate?

"A nighttime bonfire is great to reinforce the autumnal feeling. For one meeting, we did a pep rally with a bonfire, a school bus, a band and a cheerleading squad; it brought people back to football season. For fall fare, hearty soups always recall the turning seasons."

"River birch trees are great to use with hanging votives or small lights. Decorate tables with tall glass cylinders filled with red and green apples and smaller fruit, or arrangements of fresh fall florals. Add candles, and the overall feel will be warm and inviting."

"Focus the menu on seasonally appropriate foods, such as butternut squash, apples and root vegetables. Include a community service component that focuses on a back-to-school activity, such as collecting backpacks and supplies for local schools."
