Short Cuts:
On the SpotWhat is the most valuable piece of advice you have ever been given?

It probably is, ‘Don’t worry too much, because the event will never turn out exactly the way you think it will.’ Our festivals are quite large, involving between 800 and 1,200 jugglers. So much can happen and often does so I try not to worry.”

Ginny K. Rose
Festival Coordinator
International Jugglers Association
Montague, Mass.

“It is the simple adage that everyone needs to pay their dues. After that, planning becomes fun. I have been planning now for seven years, and the first six involved a process of learning the ropes and finding out what I enjoyed about the business.”

Shelby Diltz
Conference Planner
International Midas Dealers Association
Kansas City, Mo.

“Double check, double check, double check especially with regard to accommodations and travel. If a hotel tells you it has a room set aside for you, don’t just believe that is the case. Check for yourself.”

Mary Ann Schilling
Convention Director
The Secondary Materials and Recycled Textile Association
Bethesda, Md.
