The U.S. Travel Association has launched a new board-member council, the Meetings, Incentives and Trade Shows Council. According to USTA, the group, which held its initial meeting March 2, aims to establish the value of meetings, incentives and trade shows in the minds of opinion leaders, policymakers and business leaders; to drive a proactive legislative agenda that increases domestic meetings, incentives and trade show activity; to create new industry advocates and allies; and to expand the U.S. Travel Political Action Committee to include significant contributions from the meetings, incentive and trade show industry. A list of council members, co-chaired by Christine Duffy of Maritz Travel and Larry Luteran of Hilton Worldwide, can be found here.
