Local Update:  The Fort Worth
Convention & Visitors Bureau and Visit Baltimore have taken on a new town for their cross-country partnership. Salt Lake City took over the western slot from Sacramento, Calif. The cities' sales teams work together to book convention business within the package.  

Opened on Jan. 12 in the Stockyards District is Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que, which serves all the basics for meat lovers. The establishment has a party room that seats up to 300.

Meeting Hotels: Top properties include the 614-room Omni Fort Worth Hotel, 504-room Renaissance Worthington Hotel, 430-room Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel and Spa, 294-room Hilton Fort Worth, 203-room Courtyard by Marriott-Blackstone and 156-suite Embassy Suites Fort Worth-Downtown.

The Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Hotel & Golf Club at Champions Circle is 20 minutes north of downtown. Near the airport are the 299-room American Airlines Training and Conference Center and 295-room Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott South.

For a more casual gathering, try one of the two Love Shacks in town run by chef Tim Love. Burgers are the main event here, and the Shake Calendar entices with different mouthwatering frosty flavors each month.
