There's a natural affinity for team-building at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, where the Disney Event Group recently debuted some new ESPN-themed activities aimed at fostering corporate-group camaraderie. The events, which are easy to adapt to other meeting locations, include the following.

• Ultimate Tailgate Party. ESPN sets up an Astroturf carpet with its logo emblazoned in chalk and plenty of logoed T-shirts to go around; a few pickup trucks (with logoed license plates) rim the circumference, their carriages laden with drinks, while a sprinkling of food stations offer barbecue, burgers and the like. Attendees are greeted by a cheering squad of fellow employees wearing cardboard masks of ESPN personalities.

• Poker Club Challenge. Attendees enter a room appointed with video screens, a scrolling marquee and flashing, customized lights, and upon checking in are handed $10,000 in logoed poker chips. Gaming tables, buffet tables and bars create the feel of an upscale casino, while the TV hosts of ESPN's Poker Club Challenge welcome everyone via video. A live poker host directs the action, and winners can cash in their chips for logoed gifts.

• Team Challenge Scavenger Hunt. This takes place around the entire ESPN complex, with attendees gathering at a starting location where ESPN personalities explain the rules of the hunt via video. The group is broken into small teams; members don color-coded bandanas and are given a book that includes the rules, a map of the complex and some famous sports facts and figures. Teams then race around the complex seeking clues and solving sports-themed riddles, stopping only to enjoy a lunch set up by Disney chefs. After all the teams cross the finish line, it's back to the video screen for parting words and then a presentation of medals.
