Short Cuts:
For the Bookshelf

Tricking the audience might not be a commonly accepted way to make a presentation, but it can be effective, according to Tricks For Trainers, Volume II by Dave Arch. The 188-page book aims to show trainers how to use sleight of hand, brain teasers and other exercises to hold the interest of an audience. “Magic captures the attention, fires up the imagination, and involves people,” writes Arch. By actually teaching participants how to perform some of the magic tricks, presenters can engage them and with any luck keep them from vanishing."
