The Association of Corporate Travel Executives is developing a certification for industry consultants, the organization announced this week at its Global Education Conference in Berlin. The certification will be part of Consultants' Corner, slated to launch in the first quarter of next year. In addition to career-development information and the certification for consultants, Consultants' Corner connects third-party members with companies looking for contractors. Also announced this week, ACTE is collaborating with several universities and business schools on the new "Around the World in 80 Hours" program, which will consist of 80 hours of university-accredited classroom work on specific travel markets, together with two to three days of related site visits. The educational program will be held in the spring and fall of each year and is set to launch in Singapore in fall 2011.
