 According to FutureWatch, an annual survey conducted by Meeting Professionals International, the number of meetings being planned is up 8 percent for 2011 over 2010, and the average spend per meeting will rise 5 percent. The number of people attending meetings will rise slightly, as well, by 2 percent. The suppliers surveyed anticipated the number of meetings they were handling would rise by 11 percent, and the number of group proposals they are compiling is up by 14 percent. The survey was answered by 459 meeting professionals, 54 percent of whom were planners and 46 percent suppliers.
