Emergency SignTo ensure attendees are ready for an emergency, put a note in registration packets with basic emergency response instructions. They might be as simple as calling 911, but at some convention centers, red emergency buttons are sprinkled throughout to make the process even easier. On the same page, explain how attendees should evacuate the building in the event of an emergency, and include a photograph of an obvious landmark where everyone should gather. Thanks to Ruth L. Gregg, CMP, event planner for the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute, for the suggestion.
