 The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International is rebranding its renowned Affordable Meetings conference and exhibition as HSMAI’s MEET: Meetings, Events, Education, Technology. The association’s national show will be held Sept. 7-8 in Washington, D.C., and will be the first to fly under the new flag. “MEET is the evolution of HSMAI’s Affordable Meetings, and emphasizes the essence of why we are all in the business of meetings — because we are believers in the power of face-to-face interaction to build and maintain strong business relationships,” said Fran Brasseux, HSMAI executive vice president, in a statement. The new structure will offer four notable new components: MEET University will be an educational program that includes case-study workshops and peer-to-peer roundtables; TEEM Up will be a reverse tradeshow within the traditional trade show expo, where suppliers will visit planners; the MEET Exhibitor Concierge will be a dedicated HSMAI staff member who will work with exhibitors to maximize their time before, during and after the show to meet their goals; and the show will live on virtually through MEET On.
